【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesaweatheringboxtestfixtureandestablisheslimitsfortheheatlosscoefficients.Uniformexposureguidelinesareprovidedtominimizethevariablesencounteredduringoutdoorexposuretesting.Sincethecombinationofelevatedtemperatureandsolarradiationmaycausesomesolarcollectorcovermaterialstodegrademorerapidlythaneitherexposurealone,aweatheringboxthatelevatesthetemperatureofthecovermaterialsisused.Thispracticemaybeusedtoassistintheevaluationofsolarcollectorcovermaterialsinthestagnationmode.Nosingletemperatureorprocedurecanduplicatetherangeoftemperaturesandenvironmentalconditionstowhichcovermaterialsmaybeexposedduringstagnationconditions.Toassistinevaluationofsolarcollectorcovermaterialsintheoperationalmode,PracticeE782shouldbeused.Insufficientdataexisttoobtainexactcorrelationbetweenthebehaviorofmaterialsexposedinaccordancewiththispracticeandactualin-serviceperformance.Thispracticemayalsobeusefulincomparingtheperformanceofdifferentmaterialsatonesiteortheperformanceofthesamematerialatdifferentsites,orboth.MeansofevaluatingtheeffectsofweatheringareprovidedinPracticeE765,andinotherASTMtestmethodsthatevaluatematerialproperties.Exposuresofthetypedescribedinthispracticemaybeusedtoevaluatethestabilityofsolarcollectorcovermaterialswhenexposedoutdoorstothevariedinfluencesthatcompriseweather.Exposureconditionsarecomplexandchangeable.Importantfactorsarematerialtemperature,climate,timeofyear,presenceofindustrialpollution,etc.Generally,becauseitisdifficulttodefineormeasurepreciselythefactorsinfluencingdegradationduetoweathering,resultsofoutdoorexposuretestsmustbetakenasindicativeonly.Repeatedexposuretestingatdifferentseasonsoveraperiodofmorethanoneyearisrequiredtoconfirmexposuretestsatanyonelocation.Controlsamplesmustalwaysbeusedinweatheringtestsforcomparativeanalysis.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedurefortheexposureofsolarcollectorcovermaterialstothenaturalweatherenvironmentatelevatedtemperaturesthatapproximatestagnationconditionsinsolarcollectorshavingacombinedbackandedgelosscoefficientoflessthan1.5W/(m2C).1.2Thispracticeissuitableforexposureofbothglassandplasticsolarcollectorcovermaterials.Provisionsaremadeforexposureofsingleanddoublecoverassembliestoaccommodatetheneedforexposureofbothinnerandoutersolarcollectorcovermaterials.1.3Thispracticedoesnotapplytocovermaterialsforevacuatedcollectors,photovoltaiccells,flat-platecollectorshavingacombinedbackandedgelosscoefficientgreaterthan1.5W/(m2C),orflat-platecollectorswhosedesignincorporatesmeansforlimitingtemperaturesduringstagnation.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
